The IADA-CC Ethics Committee has been dismantled due to
lack of complaints. "This is a true success story second
to noe" said Steve Koschal, co-founder of the IADA-CC.
"In five years we have had only four complaints. Two
of which were against people selling autographs in another
club" said Koschal.
Mike Frost co-founder of the IADA-CC said "when you
have a weakness, ethics committees should be the most important
part of an organization. It was the only place a collector
had to go to try and get help from an organization in which
they were paying dues." "Wrongfully, it seems that
everyone is so concerned about whether the autograph purchased
is genuine, yet they pay little or no attention to the party
from whom they are purchasing," said Koschal. For five
years the IADA-CC published an Ethic's Committee Report in
each and every issue of our club journal. More importantly
in almost every issue, our Ethic's Chariman requested other
organizations to do the same. This fell on deaf ears.
We had found the answer to the age old problem years ago,
screen the dealers you allow to be members of the club. Admit
only the finest in the world and the problem took care of
itself. To date, we still have no complaints. However, to
keep in touch with reality in the autograph marketplace, the
IADA-CC opened the International Autograph Sellers Information
Services, P.O. Box 848486, Hollywood, Fl 33084 USA. It is
requested that anyone who files a complaint against anyone
in this industry send a copy of their complaint to the I.A.S.I.S.
The IADA-CC will now maintan an "Office of Ethics."
Any member of the IADA-CC who has a complaint against any
of our members hsould send the complaint to:
Mr. William C. Decker
206C Manchester Dr.
Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 USA.
